Why Bet The Buccaneers:
✅ Pittsburgh is tied for the worst yards per play mark in the NFL this season offensively. They are averaging just 4.8 yards per play on the year thus far, and have consistently struggled to move the ball no matter who has been their quarterback. Pittsburgh is also in the bottom half of the league in yards allowed per play, and that combination does not bode well for this contest.

✅ Tampa Bay’s defense is its greatest strength, which is good news when taking on a rookie quarterback making his second career start. The Buccaneers are tied for third in the NFL in yards per play allowed at 4.7 yards per play. They are also one of just nine defenses allowing under 200 passing yards per game. They will be able to shut down Pickett with that defense en route to a victory and a cover.
✅ Pittsburgh has been an underdog most of the time this season, but that has not translated to them covering the spread. The Steelers are 1-3-1 against the number this season, with their lone cover coming in Week 1 against the Bengals in an overtime win. While the Steelers will get better later this season, this is not that time.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got out to a 21-0 lead against the Atlanta Falcons and coasted to the finish line from there. They gave up 15 straight points down the stretch, and benefited from a very generous roughing the passer penalty in the fourth quarter, but were able to salt the game away without the Falcons getting a look at the ball in the final minutes. Here, the Bucs will aim for another strong start against an inexperienced quarterback in Kenny Pickett.
Putting pressure on Pickett is going to be the key to this game for the Buccaneers. Pittsburgh has a ton of weapons at the skill positions, and any professional quarterback will be able to find those weapons if they have time to do so. If the Bucs can speed up Pickett and force him into having to read things quicker than he is comfortable with, the Bucs could win convincingly in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Kenny Pickett started his first game as a pro last week for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Buffalo Bills. To put it gently, it did not go well, as the Bills crushed the Steelers by a score of 38-3. This week, Pickett will get the start once again as the Steelers hope that he has a better game while gaining some valuable experience in the process.
While Pickett needs to be better in this game than he was a week ago, the Steelers also need to be better defensively as well. They gave up 424 passing yards to Josh Allen last week, as the Bills were able to move the ball at will. Facing Tom Brady this week, things are not going to get any easier for the Steelers unless they can win on the defensive side of the ball.
