This game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Why Bet The Under:
✅ The San Francisco 49ers are playing their second straight road game this week, and this one should be tougher on them than last week. In Week 5, the Niners beat up a Panthers team that was a day away from firing Matt Rhule. This week, San Francisco will have a much tougher day offensively against a Falcons team that at least appears to be a professional football team.

✅ San Francisco is the best defensive team in the NFL in terms of yards per play allowed at 4.0 yards per play. They also rank first in yards per game allowed and are tied for the top scoring defense in the NFL. They will slow down the Falcons in this contest, especially with Cordarrelle Patterson on injured reserve for the Falcons.
✅ 49ers games have gone under the total four out of five times this season. That is going to continue here, as they are going to need to rely heavily on their defense to win against a Falcons team that has looked way more competitive than they did a season ago.
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers crushed the Carolina Panthers in Week 5 of the NFL season, causing Matt Rhule to finally lose his job as Panthers head coach once and for all. Things were competitive in the first half, but the defense of the Niners led to their offense getting up and running in the final 30 minutes of play. In this 49ers vs Falcons matchup, the Niners will need to beat a team on the road with a much more positive outlook than Carolina.
For the Niners, leaning on their defense has worked perfectly well so far this season. They lead the league in several key defensive categories, most importantly in points per game allowed. In order to keep that going, they will need to defend Marcus Mariota both through the air and on the ground.
Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, falling behind 21-0 and failing to recover from that deficit. They will feel like they could have come back and won the game if Grady Jarrett was not called for a questionable roughing the passer penalty late in the game, which allowed the Bucs to run the clock out. This week, the Falcons will look to rebound from that situation in order to get back to the .500 mark on the season.
The key to this game for the Falcons is going to be finding a way to run the football without Cordarrelle Patterson. Marcus Mariota led the Falcons with just 61 rushing yards, as their backup options were not able to make up for the lost production caused by Patterson’s injury. Against such a good defensive opponent this week, finding some rushing production will be essential.
