This game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Why Bet The Eagles:
✅ The Jaguars have been praised for their defense so far this season, allowing just 55 yards per game on the ground through three weeks. But they have not had to deal with a top-tier rushing attack yet this season. They faced the Colts in Week 2, but the Colts had to throw all game while chasing a deficit. Here, against a team that will run on them early and often, the Jags will wilt on defense.

✅ This game is the second straight road game for a Jaguars team dealing with a brutal travel situation. They played in Week 2 in Jacksonville, followed that up with a Week 3 game in Los Angeles, and are now playing in Philadelphia. Going back and forth between coasts for three straight games, and working from South to North on top of it, we could see a flat Jaguars team coming off of a big win last week.
✅ Philadelphia is top-three in the NFL in yards per play for and against so far this season. They are superior to the Jaguars on both fronts, and were miles better against a mutual opponent against the Commanders at FedEx Field. Expect the quality of the Eagles to shine through against Jacksonville, who will not be able to keep up on either side of the ball.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Heading into this Jaguars vs Eagles matchup, Jacksonville has some serious momentum on their side. They have won two straight games after a season-opening loss to the Washington Commanders. Those wins came at home against the Indianapolis Colts and in Los Angeles against the Chargers. But the Eagles will be the toughest test of the young season for the Jacksonville Jaguars and their defense.
In this game, defending the run will be the biggest litmus test for the Jaguars. If they can slow down the Eagles running game and force them into obvious passing situations, the pass rush of the Jaguars will be able to do what it does best. But if they cannot, the Eagles will use their unpredictability to neutralize said pass rush.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have kept things rolling early on this season, going 3-0 and looking like an elite team early in the season. They are coming off of a blowout win over the Washington Commanders last week, where Jalen Hurts threw for 340 yards and the Eagles held Washington to just eight points. In this contest, the Eagles defense will look to shut down Trevor Lawrence, who had a huge game against the Chargers last week.
Through three weeks, the Eagles have allowed 186.7 passing yards per game, which ranks sixth in the NFL. The fact that they have done so while leading for the bulk of their three games makes that number even more impressive. If they can continue to limit their opposition through the air against the Jaguars, a 4-0 start might not be far behind.
