This game will be played at Ford Field at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Why Bet The Lions:
✅ Through three weeks, the Detroit Lions have a solid advantage over the Seattle Seahawks in yards per play for and against. The Lions have a net yards per play advantage of +1.1 so far, as the Lions have been better on both sides of the ball. It is quite the change to see the Lions as a favorite, but their status as such is warranted and they should take this game by at least a touchdown.

✅ Seattle has played one road game so far this year, and they were held to just seven points in that road game. Some of that had to do with the Seahawks playing against a 49ers team that has been solid defensively so far this season. But some of it was that Geno Smith and the Seattle offense are not to be trusted on the road. They will show us why once again in this contest.
✅ So far this season, the Detroit Lions are 3-0 against the spread on the season. They have greatly outperformed expectations so far in 2022. Meanwhile, the Seahawks are 1-2 against the spread, and needed a comedy of errors from the Broncos to earn that one win against the number. Barring a series of embarrassing mistakes from the Lions, both teams will continue on their current trajectories against the spread.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have not done a good job of following up on their Week 1 win over the Denver Broncos. They have lost two straight games since that initial triumph, losing to the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons. Now, the Seahawks hit the road for the second time on the year, and will look to get a win that will put them back at the .500 mark on the year.
For Seattle, finding a defensive spark will be the key to this Seahawks vs Lions matchup. They allowed 141 rushing yards to Cordarrelle Patterson of the Falcons last week. With Detroit’s rushing attack having plenty of potency through D’Andre Swift, Seattle could be in for another long day trying to slow down the run on Sunday afternoon.
Detroit Lions
While the Detroit Lions did not beat the Minnesota Vikings, they did cover the spread for the third straight week. Detroit almost won that game outright as well, but could not keep the Vikings out of the end zone in the final minutes to preserve their late lead. As a result, the Lions are 1-2 on the season, but will like their chances to get to 2-2 at home against a struggling Seahawks team.
Defense will also be the key for the Lions, as that phase of their game has been hit or miss early in the year. Detroit allowed 27 or more points in each of their first three games of this season. That includes their Week 2 win at home over the Commanders. If the Lions cannot cut down on how much they allow this week, they could relinquish a golden opportunity to get back to even on the year.
