Two teams on the outside looking play in Northern California Sunday as the Tennessee Titans travel to the Bay Area to take on the Oakland Raiders. Both teams are right in the thick of the playoff race and cannot afford a loss at this point in the season.
Tennessee enter Sunday with a 7-5 record and sit just one game behind the Texans in the AFC South with two games still to play against Houston. In the AFC, Tennessee is tied with Pittsburgh for the final Wild Card spot, but are on the outside looking in due to losing to Pittsburgh having a better conference record winning percentage.
Oakland enters play at 6-6 and now sit two games back of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West with just four games left. The Raiders are just one game back of the Pittsburgh Steelers for the final Wild Card spot and a win over Tennessee would give the Raiders the tiebreaker advantage over the Titans.
Below is my best bet for the Tennessee Titans at the Oakland Raiders. All lines are from FanDuel Sportsbook
Tennessee Titans (-3) at Oakland Raiders: O/U 48 points (-110/-110)
Tennessee went into Indianapolis in a huge AFC South game and came away with a 31-17 road victory. This game was close until a blocked field goal was returned for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter. The Titans have now won three games in a row, five of six, and have looked like a completely different team since Ryan Tannehill took over at QB. Tennessee is now 3-3 on the road with the only notable win being their one last week against Indy. Tennessee is 7-5 against the spread and the over has hit in seven of their 12 games this season.
Oakland had a chance to show up and take the lead in the AFC West, but instead they went into Kansas City and lost 40-9 to the Chiefs. It was the Raiders second consecutive 31 point loss as it appears that three game winning streak against bad teams was just a mirage. The Raiders are 4-1 at home this season with the lone loss being to Kansas City in Week 2. Oakland is 6-6 against the spread and both the over and under has hit in six of their 12 games this season.
Series History: Oakland has won three straight meetings between these two and now leads the all-time series 30-20.
NFL ATS Pick: I like Tennessee -3 in this one.
