Betting prop bets this season has done pretty well and has given much more value than betting these spreads that have seen money line underdogs winning outright each week. The prop bet board this week has plenty of interesting lines and value as I see six or seven legit props that look worth taking in Week 7.
Below are my three best prop bets for Week 7 of the NFL season. All lines are from FanDuel Sportsbook
Over 6.5 touchdowns scored (+100): Los Angeles Rams @ Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons as a team, and especially as a defense, stink and this very could be Dan Quinn’s last game if the Los Angeles Rams blowout Falcons in Atlanta. The Falcons have yet to give up less than 20 points this season and have given up 34 and 53 points the last two weeks. Combined TDs in Falcons games have been 6, 5, 6, 4, 11 (!), and 8, so there are points being scored in Falcons games. On the other hand, the Los Angeles Rams have lost three in a row and have been giving up more points than expected this season. Combined TDs in Rams games this season are 6, 3, 3, 11 (!), 6 and 3, so as clearly the Rams defense has been able to hold teams to FGs, but I don’t see that happening this week. I think this is a Sean McVay get right game and the Rams get four of five TDs themselves, so I expect over 6.5 TDs to easily hit.
Over 82.5 rushing yards for Saquon Barley (-112): Arizona Cardinals @ New York Giants
The Arizona Cardinals defense has given up 116, 182, 173, 115, 108, and 103 rushing yards in each of their six games this season. In their last five games the Cardinals have given up at least 88 yards to the leading rusher including 153 yards to Christina McCaffrey and 120 to Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. Last week the Falcons rushed for 103 yards on the road, in a game they trailed often, and Devonta Freeman rushed for 88 yards himself. The New York Giants will be getting all-pro RB Saquon Barkley back from injury and I expect him to go off. Barkley ran for 107 yards against one of the top defenses in the league, the Buffalo Bills, and ran for 120 yards on just 11 carries against the Dallas Cowboys in the season opener. Back Saquon to rush for over 82.5 yards on Sunday.
Alternate Total – under 22.5 points scored (+850): New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears
This game looked like it might be fun when the season started, but now not so much. This is one I would recommend placing this alternate total bet and then maybe just checking in on the score rather than watching yourself. I have no idea how either team is going to score on offense in this one as the Saints will still be without Drew Brees and will also be without all-world RB Alvin Kamara and starting TE Jared Cook. The Bears get Mitch Trubisky back, most likely, but Chicago has scored 3, 16 and 31 points with Mitch as QB this season – the 31 points was against the terrible Washington Redskins. This game has 10-7 type of feel to it, so with the odds so great I am going to take a chance at under 22.5 points scored.
