New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens Thursday Night Football Pick & Preview

New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens Thursday Night Football Pick & Preview

A Thursday Night Football showdown featuring two teams with different aspirations the rest of the year is on the schedule for Week 15. The 5-8 New York Jets travel to Baltimore to take on the 10-2 Baltimore Ravens.

The New York Jets enter Week 15 in third place in the AFC East and in 13th place in the AFC. If the season ended today the Jets would have the 9th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Baltimore enter play in first place in the AFC North and the top seed in the AFC overall. A win last week clinched a playoff berth for the Ravens and a win Thursday would clinch the AFC North. The Ravens hold a one game lead, plus the head-to-head, over the New England Patriots and hold a two game lead over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Below is my best bet for the New York Jets at the Baltimore Ravens. All lines are from FanDuel Sportsbook

New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens (-14.5): O/U 44.5 points (-115/-105)

The New York Jets got some help from the officials and came away with a 22-21 win over the Miami Dolphins last week. The game looked all but over, but an overturned non-PI call gave the Jets life and Sam Ficken hit a 44-yard field goal as time expired to give the Jets the win. New York has now won four of their last five games after starting the season 1-7. The Jets are 1-5 on the road this season with that lone winning coming against the now 3-10 Washington Redskins. New York is 5-8 against the spread and the under has hit in seven of their 13 games this season.

Baltimore extended their winning streak to nine games with a solid 24-17 road win over the Buffalo Bills. The Ravens never trailed in this one and led by as much as 15 midway through the fourth quarter. After starting the season 2-2, the Ravens have cemented themselves as the Super Bowl favorite, thanks to their MVP favorite quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens are 5-1 at home this season with their lone loss coming against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4. Baltimore is 7-5-1 against the spread and the over has hit in seven of their 13 games this season.

Series History: The New York Jets won the most recent meeting between these two, but the Baltimore Ravens lead the all-time series 8-2.

NFL Prediction: I don’t like backing big spreads on these Thursday night games, so I am backing New York +14.5 Thursday night.
