This game will be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium at 8:00 PM ET on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
Why Bet The Breakers:
✅ The Breakers were competitive against the Stallions this season, despite dropping both games against Birmingham. Those two games were decided by a combined 10 points, with the Breakers losing by just a point to the Stallions in their second meeting. Expect another tightly contested affair here, with the Breakers keeping this one within a possession.
✅ Kyle Sloter has been able to move the ball through the air against the Stallions this season. He has thrown for 492 yards in the two meetings between New Orleans and Birmingham. If he can avoid another three-interception affair like he had in the most recent game between these teams, the Breakers could take this game outright.

✅ It is worth pointing out that the Birmingham Stallions were the only team in the USFL with a home crowd during the 2022 season. They are now moving to a neutral site, where that luxury will not be afforded to them. Expect the Stallions to regress slightly without one of the big advantages they enjoyed over every other team in the regular season.
New Orleans Breakers
The New Orleans Breakers finished second in the South Division of the USFL, finishing the regular season with a 6-4 record. They finished the regular season allowing the fewest points in the league, giving up five fewer points than the Birmingham Stallions to earn that honor. New Orleans will hope that its defense can get the job done again in this semifinal matchup to spark an upset win over the Stallions. While the defense has been reliable for the Breakers, the offense has been inconsistent for large chunks of this season. New Orleans was a bottom-half scoring offense this season, but they do have the potential to play well with one of the league’s leading passers in Kyle Sloter. Avoiding turnovers from Sloter will be the key to this game offensively for the Breakers, who will look to avoid going 0-3 against the Stallions this season.
Birmingham Stallions
The Birmingham Stallions had an undefeated record for the first eight weeks of the USFL season, and finished the regular season with a 9-1 record. They were the only team to beat the New Jersey Generals this year, and the Stallions are favored in this game to go to advance to the USFL championship game. In order to get there, though, the Stallions will need to navigate a tough Breakers defense.
Birmingham will also need to navigate not having a home field advantage for the first time all season. While the crowds at Stallions games were by no means capacity crowds, they did have at least some fan presence at their games, while all other teams played in empty stadiums for the most part. It will be interesting to see how the Stallions’ performance level is impacted by losing out on having home fans in the playoffs.
