A big NFC North battle, with major playoff implications, is on the line Monday night as the Green Bay Packers travel to face the Minnesota Vikings. Both teams are fighting for the division title and both are still alive for a first round bye in the playoffs.
Green Bay enters Week 16 with an 11-3 overall record and a one game lead in the NFC North. The Packers currently occupy the two seed in the NFC, but are tied with third seed New Orleans, and first seed Seattle, at 11-3. Green Bay would clinch the NFC North with a win Monday.
Minnesota enters Monday night with a 10-4 overall record and currently occupy the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. The Vikings trail the Packers by one game in the division and also trail the 49ers by one game for the top Wild Card spot.
Below is my best bet for the Green Bay Packers at the Minnesota Vikings. All lines are from FanDuel Sportsbook
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (-4): O.U 45 points (-115/-105)
It wasn’t pretty, like most Green Bay games as of late, but the Packers were able to beat the Chicago Bears 21-13 in the 200th meeting between these two rivals. The Packers entered the fourth quarter up 21-3 and were able to hang on, barely, in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Green Bay has now won three games in a row and four of their last five. The Packers are 4-2 on the road this season with a bad loss at the Chargers. Green Bay is 9-5 against the spread and the under has hit in eight of their 14 games this season.
Minnesota went into Los Angeles, in what was a trap game against the Chargers, and came away with a dominant 39-10 victory. The Vikings trailed 10-9 midway through the second quarter, but scored the games final 30 points to leave Southern California with an easy win over the struggling Chargers. Minnesota has now won two in a row and have won four of their last five games overall. The Vikings are 6-0 at home this season, with five of their wins coming by double digits. Minnesota is 8-6 against the spread and the over has hit in eight of their 14 games this season.
Series History: The Packers won on opening day this season and now lead the all-time series 61-54-3.
Game Prediction: At home, I like Minnesota -4.
