For all the bad Monday Night Football games we’ve had to sit through to start the season, we finally get a real good matchup. The 2-2 Cleveland Browns, fresh off a blowout win in Baltimore, travels to the Bay Area to take on the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers haven’t exactly had the toughest schedule to start the season, beating the Bucs, Bengals and Steelers, but credit to them for getting the job done.
This should be a very good game with a ton of star power at the QB position.
Below are my three best bets for Monday Night Football. All lines are from FanDuel Sportsbook
Cleveland Browns +174
The Browns offense finally woke up last week, in their 40-25 win at the Baltimore Ravens, and I like that momentum to carry over to this week as the Browns take on the undefeated 49ers. Cleveland is currently 2-2 and tied for 1st in the AFC North without really playing all that well to start 2019. Perhaps it was the lack of preseason playing time that caused the slow start, especially on offense, but whatever the case may be the Browns woke up last week. Cleveland is in the middle of an tough five game stretch and this may be the most winnable game for them over the next three weeks. I expect the Browns to get the win and end the 49ers perfect start to 2019.
Odell Beckham Jr. Over 76.5 receiving yards (-112)
2 receptions. 20 yards. That was Odell Beckham Jr.’s stat line last week against the Baltimore Ravens. That was the least amount of receptions for Odell since his second career game, back in 2014, and his lowest yardage total of his career. I expect things to be different in Week 5 or the Browns could have some locker room trouble. OBJ hasn’t gone over 76.5 yards just once this season, and that was due to an 89 yard TD reception, but the Browns should feed Odell early and often Monday night to keep him happy. Expect Odell to get over 100 yards Monday night.
George Kittle to score a TD (+125)
In 2018 George Kittle found the end zone five times, but three games into the 2019 season the talented tight end has yet to score. I think that changes Monday night. Kittle has still been one of the best TE’s in the league this year, as he has 17 receptions for 165 yards, but with the 49ers coming off a bye I think Kyle Shannahan schemes something up for Kittle to get to pay dirt. In four games this season, though one was against Luke Faulk and the Jets, the Browns have given up 15 receptions for 156 yards and three touchdowns in 2019. Expect Kittle to make that at least four TDs given up to tight ends.
