The 2019-2020 playoffs are set and one of the NFC Wild Card games is a real good one as the Minnesota Vikings travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints.
Minnesota finished the regular season at 10-6 and three games back of the NFC North champion Green Bay Packers. The Vikings are back in the playoffs after a one year absence, but are looking for their first win on Wil Card weekend since 2004. If Minnesota were to win they would travel to San Francisco in the divisional round.
New Orleans finished the regular season with a 13-3 overall record and a NFC South title. The Saints are in the playoffs for the second straight season and will look to get revenge on the pass interference no call that cost them a Super Bowl appearance last season. New Orleans will travel to Green Bay if they can get past Minnesota.
Below is my best bet for the NFC Wild Card game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints. All lines are from DraftKings Sportsbook
Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints (-8): O/U 47 points (-110/-110)
Minnesota rested all of their starters in Week 17 and ultimately ended up falling 21-19 to the Chicago Bears. The Vikings actually led by a point late in this game, but a 22 yard Eddy Pineiro field goal, with 10 seconds remaining, gave the Bears the win. Minnesota ended their regular season on a two game losing streak, but did win two of their last four. The Vikings went 4-4 on the road this season with no notable wins and losses to the Seahawks, Packers, Kansas City and Chicago. Minnesota is 9-7 against the spread and the over has hit in nine of their 16 games this season.
The New Orleans Saints had seeding to play for so they played their starters until the game got out of hand last weekend. New Orleans scored the first 35 points of the game and obliterating the Carolina Panthers 42-10 in Week 17. New Orleans ended their regular season on a three game winning streak and won six of their final seven overall games. The Saints went 6-2 at home this season with a notable win over Houston and losses to Atlanta and San Francisco. New Orleans is 11-5 against the spread and the over has hit in nine of their 16 games this season.
Series History: New Orleans won 30-20 last season, but Minnesota leads the all-time series 22-12.
Game Prediction: I like New Orleans -8 in this one.
