Both of these teams will look to take some steps forward after last year, with the Seahawks looking to win this division, while the Rams aim to get back to respectability. Los Angeles Rams
Last season was a nightmare for the Los Angeles Rams, as they missed the playoffs after winning the Super Bowl the season before. But this season, they have Matthew Stafford back and will hope that is enough to offset what could be a difficult year on defense for Sean McVay’s team.
Los Angeles lost Jalen Ramsey and Bobby Wagner on defense in the last offseason, which means even more pressure on Aaron Donald and their defensive line to blow up plays. Against the Seahawks, who like to throw the ball vertically with their stacked receiving corps, the pass rush of the Rams will be a huge key to this Rams vs Seahawks contest.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks were one of the pleasant surprises in the NFL last season, making the playoffs after being expected to struggle with Geno Smith as their new quarterback. Smith turned out to be better than Russell Wilson last season, and will look to continue to be just that this year. To do so, he will aim to start out strong in Week 1 against a Rams team that has a secondary that can be exploited.
The Seahawks have DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett back in the fold this year, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba set to join them in a loaded receiving corps later this season, once he has recovered from a wrist fracture. But the duo of Metcalf and Lockett should be enough to make a substantial impact against this Rams team.
