Why Bet The Gainwell Over
✅ Oddsmakers were reluctant to adjust to the clearly evolved role of Kenneth Gainwell prior to the NFC Championship game. His rushing total in that game was just 10.5 yards. His 14 carries for 48 yards lead the backfield in both categories. Now, oddsmakers have made an adjustment, but not nearly enough of one. His rushing prop has jumped to 20.5 yards. This is wildly low considering he is now averaging 13 carries for 80 yards per game in these playoffs.
✅ The Chiefs are a team that can be beaten on the ground, and that has held true in these playoffs. Opposing backs have had just 27 carries in this postseason, but have turned those to 137 yards. Worth noting is that every single back that has touched the ball against them has had between 4-10 carries, and all have notched at least 19 rushing yards. The respective change of pace backs have totaled 58 yards on 12 carries.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles received virtually no resistance from the NFC on their path to the Super Bowl. Their bye on Wild Card Weekend was followed up by a 38-7 drubbing of the Giants. The Giants limited pass catching corps was on full display in that game. The following week against the 49ers, they notched an easy 31-7 win. They had good fortune in that game, as the 49ers had both of their two quarterbacks suffer injuries. This game will be the most real and biggest test the Eagles will have faced in this postseason.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Cheifs naviagated the AFC to clinch the Super Bowl. Even with the bye for the Wild Card round, their journey was not without tribulation. In the divisional round, all universe quarterback Patrick Mahomes injured his ankle, and missed some time in that game. Mahomes ultimately returned, but it was not until the mid fourth quarter that the Chiefs were able to create a two score cushion. It was even tighter in the Conference Final against the Bengals. A somewhat hobbled Mahomes lead a go ahead field goal drive with just eight seconds left to clinch the Super Bowl berth.
