Prior to their bye week, the Kansas Chiefs hosted the Carolina Panthers and held on to a 33-31 victory. This was a very entertaining game that saw Carolina lead by as many as 11 points and Kansas City lead by as much as nine points, but it all came down to a 67-yard missed field goal by Joey Slye that allowed the Chiefs to hang on to victory. QB Patrick Mahomes went 30/45 for 372 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Travis Kelce went off for 10 receptions for 159 yards and Tyreek Hill hauled in nine balls for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
Last week, Las Vegas hosted the bad Denver Broncos and easily won 37-12. Las Vegas led from start to finish and led by double digits from the third quarter on. The running game exploded for Las Vegas in this one as Josh Jacobs rushed the ball 21 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns, and Devontae Booker totaled 81 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. The leading receiver for Las Vegas was Darren Waller who had three catches for 37 yards out of the tight end position. Las Vegas held Denver to 313 yards and forced five Denver turnovers, four interceptions and one fumble recovery.
Series History: Kansas City has won five of the last six games, but Las Vegas won at Kansas City earlier this season. The Chiefs lead the all-time series 67-54-2.
