Why Bet The Taylor Over
โ As Troy Aikman so astutely pointed out last week, the Colts passing offense is an abject disaster. Matt Ryan is on his last legs in the league. This sad fact means the Colts have no choice but to run the ball. This fact is also not lost on interim head coach Jeff Saturday, as the Colts have properly fed Jonathan Taylor in recent weeks.
Over the last three games, two of which being losses, the Colts were sure to get Taylor at least 20 carries in each game. Taylor has averaged 105.7 yards per game in that span and has had at least 84 rushing yards in each game. He is certainly their most effective offensive player and someone they will have to lean on if this matchup is to stay competitive. Even if the game script turns sour, we will see them try to keep a balanced approach for as long as possible.
โ The Cowboys defense has overall been a top unit in the league this season, but if it has an Achilles Heel, it is against opposing rush offenses. The Cowboys remain in the bottom quarter of the league in rushing yards allowed per game. Now facing one of the league’s elite backs in a game where the opposing approach essentially has no choice but to feed their work horse, the Cowboys will allow a chunk of rushing yards. Even if the Cowboys have something of a cake walk in this matchup, the Taylor player prop on rushing yards is simply set too low.

Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys remain one of the league’s high end teams. They do however have the misfortune of being in the NFC East, where the 10-1 Eagles are pacing the league. The Cowboys have little chance of winning the division despite being 8-3 and the third best team in the NFC. They will stay the course and look to win all games with an eye towards their home matchup with the Eagles. That game could truly decide the division.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are looking at a lost season with a 4-7-1 record entering this week. They will give one more push and try to steal a win from the superior Cowboys to keep their Wild Card hopes alive. In the likely event they lose this game, they will be essentially eliminated from playoff contention. That means looking forward to finding both their coach and quarterback of the future.
