NFC North rivals will square off on Sunday when the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears meet at Soldier Field. Both teams are well under .500 at this point in the season, but both teams are clearly building toward the future and will look for a win to help them with that process here. In our NFL best bets for this week, we analyze the Lions vs Bears matchup from Chicago.
Lions vs Bears Betting Pick
This game will be played at Soldier Field at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
Why Bet The Bears:
✅ The Chicago Bears have seen some progress from Justin Fields over the last few weeks. He is coming off of a game where he threw three touchdown passes against the Dolphins, and set the single-game rushing record for a quarterback in a regular season game. This week, he faces a putrid Lions defense, and should continue to progress.
✅ Yes, the Lions beat the Green Bay Packers last week, holding them to just nine points in the process. But that was more a function of the Packers being bad this season than the Lions being good. Detroit still has the worst scoring defense in the NFL at 29.3 points per game, and they will return to normal here.
✅ Despite being just 3-6 on the season, the Bears have been a profitable team to back against the spread this year. Chicago is 5-4 against the spread on the season, and will move to 6-4 against the number after this game.

Detroit Lions
Last week, the Detroit Lions got a very significant win for them, beating their nemesis in the Green Bay Packers. The Lions intercepted Aaron Rodgers time after time in that game, holding the Packers to just nine points thanks to all of those Rodgers turnovers. This week, the Lions will hope for another strong defensive performance against a Bears team that will surely try and run the ball early and often.
Unfortunately for the Lions, stopping the run is not something they do well. They rank 31st in the NFL in run defense, giving up 148.8 yards per game on the ground. With the run being the strength of the Bears, Detroit has to find a way to slow the run down to some degree.
Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears lost in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins, but there were some positives to be taken from the loss. The offense of the Bears came alive, specifically through Justin Fields. Fields was dynamic on the ground, and did not make many mistakes through the air, helping the Bears score into the 30s against the Dolphins.
This week, the running game could have another huge performance for Chicago. They are facing a terrible Detroit defense, which should set up Fields, Khalil Herbert, and the rest of the Bears rushers for success.
