Thursday Night Football hasn’t seemed to hit its stride yet and that wont change on Thursday, October 1, 2020, when the Denver Broncos (0-3) visit the New York Jets (0-3). This game is going to be ugly and they only way most people will be able to watch it is for gambling purposes. The game will be played live on NFL Network at 8:20 p.m. EST.
The Denver Broncos have some ugly stats this season as the offense is averaging just 15.0 points per game and 324.7 yards per game, 240.3 through the air and 84.3 on the ground. On defense, Denver is allowing opposing offenses to score 23.3 points and gain 388.0 yards, 285.7 passing and 102.3 rushing.
Speaking of ugly stats, say hello to the New York Jets offense that is averaging 12.3 points per game and 275.7 yards, 187.3 through the air and 88.3 on the ground. On defense, the Jets are allowing 31.3 points and 382.3 yards, 249.3 passing and 133.0 rushing.
Below is my best bet for Week 4 action between the Denver Broncos and New York Jets. All lines are from DraftKings Sportsbook.
Game Odds: Denver Broncos (-3) at New York Jets: O/U 54.5 (-110/-110)
Denver is one of the teams in the league really bit by the injury bug and it is showing in their performances with them coming off a 28-10 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. QB Jeff Driskel threw for 176 yards, one touchdown, and one interception before getting benched for Brett Rypien in the fourth quarter. Rypien went 8/9 for 53 yards and one interception in relief. The Broncos offense was only able to gain 226 total yards of offense and turned the ball over two times last Sunday.
The New York Jets may be the saddest franchise in the NFL at the moment as they enter this one at 0-3 and off a 36-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Sam Darnold threw two pick sixes, three interceptions total, and was sacked for a safety in one of the more uglier quarterbacking performances you will see. Yes, the Jets were without any real skill players, but the mistakes Darnold made were all in his head. The Jets offense had 260 total yards and three turnovers.
Series History: Denver has won three of the last four meetings between these two teams and now leads the all-time series 20-16-1.
Free NFL Picks: I don’t feel great with this pick, but Denver has more playmakers available, so give me the Denver Broncos -3.
