Why Bet The Jets:
✅ The Cincinnati Bengals have been awful offensively so far this season. They are tied for the second worst yards per play mark in the league this season, averaging just 4.3 yards per play. Only the Houston Texans have been worse in that area this season, which is alarming given the high expectations for the Bengals coming into this season.
✅ Cincinnati’s poor pass protection has been a big reason for their offensive regression early this season. The Bengals have allowed 13 sacks through two games, allowing seven against the Steelers and six against the Cowboys. The Jets defensive line is not quite as good as that of those two teams, but they will find a way to pressure Joe Burrow thanks to a putrid offensive line tasked with protecting him.
✅ Joe Flacco has been a perfectly acceptable NFL quarterback so far this season for the Jets. He has thrown five touchdown passes to just one interception, and Flacco is third in the league in passing yardage thanks to the Jets being behind for so much of their first two games. Even if the Jets fall behind here, Flacco should be able to at the very least help New York secure a cover.

Cincinnati Bengals
It has been a bizarre start to the season for the Cincinnati Bengals, who have not looked at all like the team that made it to the Super Bowl last season. The offense of the Bengals has looked horrible to start the year, failing to score more than 20 points in a game through two weeks. Here, the Bengals have a great chance to get into the win column against the Jets, but they still need to actually execute to get there.
For Cincinnati, getting a win starts with some decent pass blocking for Joe Burrow. Burrow has been sacked 13 times through two games, three times more than any other quarterback after Week 2. If the Bengals cannot give their young star more time to throw, they could be looking at an 0-3 record to start their conference title defense.
New York Jets
The New York Jets looked dead to rights last week against the Cleveland Browns, going behind by 13 points with about two minutes left in the fourth quarter. But the Jets scored a touchdown, recovered an onside kick, and scored another touchdown all in the final minutes to steal a win in Cleveland. Now the Jets will look for a second straight win over an AFC North opponent to get to an improbable 2-1 record to start the year.
The key to Bengals vs Jets from a Jets perspective will be getting pressure on the quarterback. That has been easy for opponents of the Bengals to do so far this year. But the Jets have not done a good job of racking up sacks early this season, collecting only three through two weeks. If that does not change, the Jets could allow Burrow and the Bengals to get back into an offensive rhythm.
