This game will be played at Gillette Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Why Bet The Ravens:
✅ This game features a huge offensive mismatch, with the Ravens sporting a much more potent offense than the Patriots. Baltimore is averaging 31 points per game so far this season, while the Patriots are averaging just 12 points per game. That will offset the defensive advantage that the Patriots have over Baltimore, which is not quite as lopsided.
✅ Lamar Jackson is off to an incredible start to this season, averaging 9.0 yards per pass attempt, which ranks behind only Josh Allen. Mac Jones, meanwhile, has been a middle of the pack quarterback at best this season. Jackson, who has completed over 70% of his passes in two previous games against the Patriots, will continue his hot start to the season here.
✅ Baltimore is 1-1 against the Patriots with Lamar Jackson at quarterback, but the loss came in a night game in pouring rain. Under normal weather conditions, Jackson will be able to impact this game with his arm and with his legs in a way that he could not in the rain. The Ravens will improve to 2-1 against the Patriots in the Lamar Jackson era of the franchise barring any biblical rains.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens looked like they were about to cruise to a 2-0 start to the 2022 NFL season. They led the Miami Dolphins by 21 points in the fourth quarter in Week 2, but allowed Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins offense to throw all over them en route to a 42-38 loss. Now, the Ravens will look to avoid a second straight loss to an AFC East team when they take on the Patriots on the road.
Baltimore’s defense is the weak link of their team right now, based on their performance in the fourth quarter against the Dolphins. Here, they face a Patriots team that has really struggled offensively through two weeks. But if the Ravens do not improve their pass defense in this game, they could help the Patriots break out of their early season scoring slump.
New England Patriots
In Week 2 of the NFL season, the New England Patriots struggled offensively against a Pittsburgh Steelers team that was without T.J. Watt. But their defense carried them to victory, as the Patriots grabbed a 17-14 victory on the road. This week, the Patriots will need to do more offensively if they want to avoid dipping back under .500 on the season.
The lack of sustainable offensive production for the Patriots so far this season has been alarming. Outside of a deep pass where Nelson Agholor made a miraculous one-on-one catch, the Patriots created just two scoring drives against the Steelers. Against a Ravens team that has been lighting up the scoreboard early this season, the Patriots have to do more to consistently get the ball into scoring territory, and that starts with Mac Jones.
