Head to Head
Teams Last 10
This game will be played at SoFi Stadium at 4:25 PM ET on Sunday, October 23, 2022.
Why Bet The Under:
✅ Seattle has struggled defensively this season, but they made a huge step in the right direction last week against the Arizona Cardinals. They held the Cardinals to just nine points in Week 6, and held Kyler Murray to just 222 passing yards. They may not be that good defensively on the road in Week 7, but they will do enough to help this game stay under the total.

✅ Trusting Geno Smith to remain as effective as he has been against the Chargers does not seem like the right move. The Chargers have an elite pass rush that will take time away from Smith in the pocket and force more mistakes out of him. Combine that with a banged up running back group for the Seahawks, and Seattle’s offense will sputter in this matchup.
✅ Despite all of the high-scoring games that the Seahawks have been involved in this season, they are not a prolific over/under team. Seattle has gone 3-3 in the over/under market through their first six games of the year. With a high total coming into this matchup, it would take a real shootout to get to the over here.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks picked up a nice win at home in Week 6, stifling the Arizona Cardinals in a 19-9 victory. Seattle’s much maligned defense stepped up when they needed to in that game, keeping Kyler Murray and the Cardinals at bay on third and fourth downs routinely. Against a Chargers team with a potent passing attack, Seattle’s defense will need to bring their best once again here.
In this contest, the rushing attack of the Seahawks will be a huge determining factor in how things go for the team as a whole. They got 97 rushing yards from Kenneth Walker III in Week 6, who is playing in the place of the injured Rashaad Penny. Another big game from Walker would be huge in making things easier on Geno Smith and the rest of the Seattle offense.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers come into this contest on a short week, having played on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. Los Angeles is in the top half of the AFC West, but need to keep piling up wins to avoid falling behind the first place Kansas City Chiefs. At home against a Seahawks team with a suspect defense, the Chargers need to take advantage of opportunities like this one.
Stuffing the run on early downs will be huge if the Chargers want to win this game at home as a favorite. Doing so would allow them to rush the quarterback on third downs and force Geno Smith to speed things up, which he is not great at.
