Head to Head
Teams Last 10
This game will be played at Levi’s Stadium at 8:15 PM ET on Monday, October 3, 2022.
Why Bet The 49ers:
✅ The Niners have been less than stellar offensively through three weeks, but their defense has been excellent. San Francisco ranks first in the NFL in yards per play allowed, giving up 3.9 yards per play to opponents. They are the only team in the league allowing under 4.0 yards per play so far this season, and their defense will continue to roll against the Rams.

✅ While the 49ers have not been putting up a ton of points, they are averaging more yards per game than the Rams so far this season. These two teams are nearly identical to one another in terms of yards per play gained as well. The Rams do not have much of an offensive advantage going into this game, especially with the Niners having the superior defense.
✅ The 49ers are allowing a full yard per carry less than the Rams through the first three weeks of the season. The running game of the Rams is already a weakness of theirs, ranking in the bottom-five in yards per carry. But their rushing numbers could be even worse in this contest against one of the top defenses in the league in the trenches.
Los Angeles Rams
Last week, the Los Angeles Rams claimed their second straight win to move to 2-1 on the year. They beat the Arizona Cardinals, who they have dominated over the last few years, getting their 11th win in their last 12 games against the Cardinals. Here, the Rams will look to win against a more challenging opponent, as they face a 49ers team that they lost to twice in the regular season last year.
For the Rams, getting their running game going would be such a huge boost against the 49ers. Putting Matt Stafford in situations where the whole stadium knows he is going to throw the football did not work against the Buffalo Bills. If the Rams can’t stay ahead of schedule offensively against the Niners, the same situation will play out.
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers lost a heartbreaker to the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football last week. They held the Broncos to 11 points, but still lost by a score of 11-10 thanks in part to Jimmy Garoppolo stepping out of the back of the end zone for an uncontested safety. This week, the Niners will hope for more offensive production in Jimmy Garoppolo’s second straight start in the place of the injured Trey Lance.
Whether Garoppolo steps his game up or not, this game will be all about the defense of the Niners. They had success against the Rams last season, and Los Angeles has been much worse offensively so far in the 2022 season. If the Niners can pick up where they left off last year against the Rams on that side of the ball, the Niners could move to 2-0 at home against division opponents.
