The Xavier Musketeers took down the Creighton Bluejays in Big East Tournament semifinals, blowing them out by 22 points to reach the final. Recent Big East NCAA Tournament History
Winning the Big East is a huge achievement, but it has not necessarily meant success in the NCAA Tournament. The Big East has won three of the last 10 NCAA Tournaments, with Villanova winning two of those and UConn winning another. But only one of those teams won the Big East Tournament en route to the national title.
The 2018 Villanova Wildcats won both the Big East Tournament and the NCAA Tournament. But the 2014 UConn Huskies and 2016 Villanova Wildcats did not win the conference title en route to winning the national title. So there is still hope for the loser of this game, even if both teams really want to come out and win this one.
