Toledo Rockets
The Toledo Rockets are riding an eight-game winning streak coming into Saturday night. Their most recent win was the most impressive, as they won by double digits on the road against an Akron team that has been dominant on their home floor this year. Now, Toledo will play for a ninth straight win, but will need to slow down Emoni Bates to do that.
Bates torched the Rockets for 43 points in their last meeting earlier this season, as he made the game close singlehandedly. Expect Toledo to put even more of an emphasis on slowing him down in order to try and win this game by a more convincing margin.
Eastern Michigan Eagles
The Eastern Michigan Eagles have lost two straight games, losing them in tight fashion against Buffalo and Ball State. They lost those two games by a combined six points, including a one-point loss to Ball State in overtime. Here, they will try to get on the right side of a close game against one of the top teams in the MAC.
It is no secret that Eastern Michigan can only compete with Toledo if Emoni Bates plays at a high level. But the supporting cast for the Eagles will also need to show up, so that Bates does not need to score into the 40s to keep his team in this game.
