Missouri Tigers – The Surprising Season Continues
Missouri got their first ranked win since early February, also against Tennessee, when they beat the Vols in the SEC Quarterfinals. The Tigers trailed at halftime, but were not phased and closed strong to make a surprising semifinal appearance.
The Tigers hosted Alabama back in late January and were blown off the court in an 85-64 defeat. Alabama controlled both halves, winning both by double-digits, as they were at the peak of their powers.
Missouri ranks out as the 48th best team in the nation and the seventh best in the SEC. The Tigers have the 22nd best resume, but the are ranked 60th in quality of wins. An impressive 14-0 in Q3 and Q4 games, the Tigers are 10-8 against Q1 and Q2 opponents.
Alabama Crimson Tide – The Noise is Blocked Out
Alabama started their SEC Tournament with a dominant 72-49 victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Crimson Tide needed a statement win like this as they have been very lackluster since Nate Oats lost complete control of his team off the court.
The Crimson Tide rank out as the second best team in the nation, just above Tennessee, as they have a 1.5 rating in resume and a 3.3 in quality. Alabama is 17-5 in Q1 and Q2 games this season, and a perfect 10-0 in Q3 and Q4 outings.
