Kent State Golden Flashes
The Kent State Golden Flashes enter Friday night off of a win over the Bowling Green Falcons. Kent State is at the top of the MAC standings entering this weekend, boasting a 9-2 record in league play to go with their overall record of 19-5. Here, they will look to prove themselves on the road against a Buffalo team that plays a very different style than they do.
For Kent State, not getting sucked into a track meet will be the key to this game. Buffalo wants to get out and run and make games uncomfortably fast paced for their opponents. If the Golden Flashes can avoid that and stick to what they do best, Kent State could become the first team in the MAC to hit 10 conference wins for the year.
Buffalo Bulls
The Buffalo Bulls enter this game off of two straight wins, beating Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan consecutively. To be fair, those are two of the worst teams in the MAC, and beating them is not a huge accomplishment. But it is the right way for Buffalo to build toward this huge litmus test of a game at home against the class of the MAC so far.
For Buffalo, the question heading into this game is whether or not they can do enough defensively to get a win. The Bulls have a high-powered offense, but they also give up 77.8 points per game. They will need to start by locking down Sincere Carry, who leads the Golden Flashes with 16.8 points per game.
