The Drake Bulldogs entered the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament as the second seed, but they have looked every bit like a champion over the last few days. They have beaten up on Murray State and Southern Illinois to reach the final of this tournament, and are a win over Bradley away from an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
For the Bulldogs, guard Tucker DeVries is going to be vital to their success in this matchup. DeVries is leading the Bulldogs with 18.9 points per game, and which version of him Drake gets will determine how this game goes for them. He scored 28 points in Drake’s home win over Bradley in the regular season, but just 11 in their loss on the road against the Braves.
Bradley Braves
Bradley has held serve as the top seed in the MVC Tournament, winning over Northern Iowa and Indiana State to reach the championship game. Bradley has lost just four games in MVC play so far this season, and a win here over Drake would cap off an incredible conference campaign en route to the NCAA Tournament.
The Braves are the better defensive team of the two teams in this final, thanks in large part to the presence of Rienk Mast in the paint.
