Arizona Wildcats: One Win Away From Pac-12 Crown
The Arizona Wildcats thrashed rivals Arizona State in the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament. They now find themselves a win away from winning a conference title. But they will need to figure out a way to score more regularly against one of the nation’s best defenses in order to come away with this Pac-12 title.
Arizona did win a low-scoring game over UCLA earlier this season, scoring a 58-52 win at home in their first meeting with the Bruins. But that game was in Arizona, and it could be much harder for the Wildcats to match UCLA’s defensive intensity at a neutral site here.
UCLA Bruins: Looking to Make Statement Against Arizona
UCLA has been on fire over the last couple of months in the Pac-12. They have won 12 straight games going into this Arizona vs UCLA matchup, including one at home over these same Wildcats. If the Bruins can continue to play lockdown defense in this Pac-12 final, they could cruise to both a conference title and a one-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Something to look for in this game is the offensive output of Tyger Campbell for the Bruins. Campbell caught fire for UCLA against Oregon in the semifinals on Friday. If he can stay hot against Arizona, the Wildcats may not have an answer for him.
