Head to Head
Teams Last 10
This game will be played at Highmark Stadium at 7:15 PM ET on Monday, September 19, 2022.
Why Bet The Under:
✅ The Buffalo Bills’ defense picked right back up where it left off from last season. Buffalo allowed just 3.7 yards per play in Week 1 against the Rams. Against a Titans team with a struggling quarterback in Ryan Tannehill, who lost his best receivers from last season, the Bills should be able to hold the Titans to help this game stay under the total.
✅ Tennessee really struggled to defend the run in Week 1 against the New York Giants. But the Buffalo Bills are not all that well equipped to take advantage of that. Buffalo’s leading rusher in their opener against the Rams was Josh Allen, who had just 56 yards on the ground of his own. Buffalo will still put up some points, but they will not put up a huge number to send this game over.
✅ Tennessee failed to hit 100 yards rushing as a team in Week 1, and there is some concern about how Derrick Henry has come back from his injury. He averaged 3.9 yards per carry, which is fine, but not up to the standard he lived up to before he was hurt last year. For a Titans team that went under the total in their season opener, struggles running the ball will only lead to further struggles to score and another under.
Tennessee Titans
Things looked good for the Tennessee Titans against the New York Giants, as the Titans went into halftime up 13-0 at home. But the Titans allowed 21 of the next 28 points, losing on a late two-point conversion by the Giants and a missed field goal by Randy Bullock. Here, the Titans will look to even their record on the season, but will have to be better on both sides of the ball to get there.
The Titans will need more from Derrick Henry if they want to beat the Bills, for a number of reasons. Beyond the obvious need for Henry to help the Titans chew up yardage on offense, Henry will also be a necessity to help keep Josh Allen and the Bills offense off of the field. If Henry can get up over 100 yards in this game, Tennessee could at least compete for an upset in this Titans vs Bills game.
Buffalo Bills
Going into this season, the Buffalo Bills were listed as the favorites to win the next Super Bowl. They showed everyone why that was the case in Week 1, when they destroyed the Los Angeles Rams. The Bills outscored the Rams 21-0 in the second half of that game, with Josh Allen completing several deep passes in the third and fourth quarters to help Buffalo pull away.
This week, the big key for the Bills will be slowing down Derrick Henry. The Bills should be able to rely on their passing game to generate offense. But if they can’t keep Henry from chewing up the field and clock, things could get tight in Buffalo like things were when these teams played on Monday night a season ago.
