Buffalo Bills Betting Preview
The Buffalo Bills were one of the top teams in the NFL last season, but they fell in the AFC Divisional playoff round, losing at home to the Cincinnati Bengals. The end of the season was a difficult one for the Bills, as they had to overcome the Damar Hamlin situation and keep their focus on football. That, combined with snow in the Bengals game, proved to be too much for them to deal with as they fell short of the Super Bowl once again.
This year, the Bills are once again led by Josh Allen at quarterback, as the Bills offense did not miss a beat without Brian Daboll running their offense a season ago. But this offense will have questions to deal with again this year, as Stefon Diggs clearly is not happy with his role going into the year. Whether or not that changes could determine how this season goes in Orchard Park.

Buffalo Bills Picks, Predictions & Betting News
Offseason Transactions
Key Additions: Jordan Poyer, Deonte Harty, Dalton Kincaid
Key Departures: Tremaine Edmunds, Isaiah McKenzie
Buffalo didn’t see any massive pickups or losses in the offseason, which is perfectly fine for a franchise that has been on the verge of playoff glory for a few years now. Getting Jordan Poyer back is a huge win for the Bills, as is bringing Dalton Kincaid in via the NFL Draft, as Kincaid and Dalton Schultz could become one of the best tight end duos in the NFL. While losing Edmunds and McKenzie is by no means ideal, the Bills managed to keep most of their core together, which is great news for them.

Buffalo’s offense is very pass-heavy, and it is likely to remain that way in 2023. But the Bills were one of the better teams in the league from a yards per carry perspective, thanks in large part to their ability to get chunk yardage on the ground with Josh Allen. If they can find some sort of running game from their backs, they could have a huge offensive season without putting all of the pressure on Allen to deliver.
Of course, whether the Bills can keep Stefon Diggs is another question mark that has popped up for the Bills going into this season. Diggs’ relationship with Allen has been called into question, and how this season goes could depend on how well the top-two offensive weapons on this team get along with so much pressure to perform hanging over them.

Buffalo’s defense is consistently one of the best in the NFL, but they have failed to stop the truly elite teams vying for the AFC championship with them. In back to back years, the Bills have fallen short against the Chiefs and Bengals in the Divisional round, thanks to their inability to get stops consistently against Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes. Nice looking numbers from beating up on regular season competition are great, but this team will not be judged on its stats, it will be judged on how they defend in the games that matter most.
Positives & Negatives
From a positive standpoint, this Buffalo Bills team has all of the tools to win a championship going into this season. They have the quarterback play and the defense to be better than any opponent on any given week. As long as Allen stays healthy this season, the Bills should be one of the last few teams standing in the AFC once again.
If there is a negative for this team, it is the issues that they have scoring proficiently when the winter weather becomes a factor each season. An offense that relies so heavily on its passing game may not be built for postseason success, as the Bills showed us last year. While this will only be a concern for a few weeks of the season, those weeks just so happen to be the most important of the season.
2023 Buffalo Bills Win Total Prediction: Over 10.5 Wins
Buffalo’s schedule is set up so that all of their toughest games are on the road this season. They have the Bengals, Eagles, and Chiefs all on the road, but they may not lose a home game given that their home schedule is so much softer than their road slate. Look for the Bills to dominate in Orchard Park en route to at least 11 wins in 2023.
