Chargers vs Vikings
The 3-5 Vikings travel to take on the 5-3 Chargers in an interconference matchup. The question of the week of late is just what new creative way to lose the Vikings will find this week. Of course it does not help that Dalvin Cook has made himself a distraction with the potential domestic violence issue. Combine the distraction with a defense that continues to be banged up, and this could be a rough trip to LA.

Why Bet The Chargers
✅ The Chargers offense continues to be a high end one, yet more quietly than some other teams. They remain in the top half of the league in scoring, despite a six point clunker in Baltimore three weeks ago. That game was a true one off, as they have scored at least 24 points in five of their last six. Their average in that span is 27.1 points per game. The offense was producing with both top wide out and running back Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler playing banged up. This week projects to be the healthiest those two have been in roughly a month. The soft matchup should make life easy for Justin Herbert and his weapons.
✅ The Vikings offense has been completely hit or miss. They have scored more than 30 on four occasions, but have scored fewer than 20 on three occasions. The common denominator in the high output games has been the play of Kirk Cousins. He has thrown for at least two scores and 11 in total in the four 30+ games. This is a matchup that feels like a big game from Cousins is not in the cards. The Chargers are third best in the league, allowing just 197 passing yards per game. Additionally the Chargers are getting healthier in the secondary. A negative game script may just doom the Vikings.
✅ There are non statistical factors at play in this game as well. We simply cannot ignore the elephant in the room that is the Dalvin Cook circus this week. He may be dealing with a serious domestic violence situation that does not appear to be unlike the Ray Rice situation. Cook is going to play this week, however we have to wonder how much focus was taken away by the media nightmare.
