The Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans are on completely opposite ends of the standings in the NFL this season. Arizona is the league’s lone undefeated team at 6-0, while the Texans are suffering through a long losing streak. This week, the Cardinals are heavy favorites to move to 7-0 as the Texans just look to get their feet under them. In our NFL picks for this week, we look at Texans vs Cardinals ahead of this potentially lopsided contest.

Texans vs Cardinals Betting Pick
This game will be played at State Farm Stadium at 4:25 PM ET on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
Why Bet The Cardinals:
✅ The Houston Texans have lost three of Davis Mills’ four starts this season by double figures, with all three of those double-digit losses coming by at least 15 points. Against the best team in the NFL so far this season, that trend will continue, and the Cardinals should be able to cover the 17.5-point spread.
✅ On the flip side, the Cardinals have won four of their six games by double digits this season. Arizona is 5-1 against the spread this season, exceeding expectations in nearly all of their games through Week 6. Against the lowly Texans, they are likely to do the same.

✅ Since 2014, teams who are favored by 14 points or more are 21-9 against the spread. That applies to the Cardinals, who should be able to crush the lowly Houston Texans in this game to move that number to 22-9.
Houston Texans
The Houston Texans won their first game of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Since then, they have lost five games in a row and are sporting a 1-5 record. They are again going to start backup quarterback Davis Mills, as Tyrod Taylor is on injured reserve. With Mills at quarterback, the Texans haven’t won a game, and have only been competitive in one of his starts.
In Mills’ four starts, the Texans have scored in double figures in just one game. They have struggled to move the ball through the air with him as their signal caller, and the Texans are one of just four teams that have failed to score 100 points on the season so far. Against the best team in the NFL, it is hard to imagine that things will improve for Houston this week.
Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals were without head coach and offensive play caller Kliff Kingsbury last week due to COVID-19. As a result, they were not expected to hang with the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland. But the Cardinals blew the Browns away last week, getting off to a hot start and never looking back en route to their sixth win and six games on the season.
This week, the status of Kingsbury is uncertain, and he could very well miss out on this contest for the Cardinals. But even if he does miss out on this game, the Cardinals are still expected to crush the Texans thanks to their superior offense. With the Cardinals gaining over a yard per play more than the Texans this season, Arizona should have the firepower to put the Texans away early barring any mental lapses.
