SEC Championship Pick & Preview: Georgia vs LSU 12/7/19

The 28th SEC Championship game pits two teams who are very familiar with being in this game. The #4 Georgia Bulldogs and the #2 LSU Tigers will battle for a SEC Championship and a College Football Playoff berth.

Georgia once again came in at #4 in the College Football Playoff rankings and will be in the playoffs with an upset over #2 LSU Saturday. The Georgia Bulldogs prepare for their 9th SEC Championship game overall and third straight appearance in this game. Georgia has won the SEC title in 2002, 2005 and 2017, while having lost in 2003, 2011, 2012 and 2018. A win Saturday would clinch the Bulldogs second 12 win season in their last three.

LSU came in ranked #2 in the latest CFP rankings and have all but sealed their playoff berth no matter what happens in the SEC Championship game. The LSU Tigers will be playing in their 7th SEC Championship game and their first since 2011. LSU has won the championship in 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2011 and have only lost in 2005. A win Saturday would be LSU’s first 13 win season since 2011.

Below is my pick for the #4 Georgia Bulldogs vs #1 LSU Tigers. All lines are from the William Hill Sportsbook.
