Taylor has been remarkably consistent as a touchdown producer, throwing 14 passing touchdowns through four games, with game-by-game totals of 4, 3, 4 and 3. That means he has cleared this 1.5 projection in all four starts this season. Alabama presents a much tougher challenge than most of Mississippi State’s previous opponents, but the game environment should force Taylor to remain aggressive through the air. Mississippi State has been scoring at a high rate, and if it falls behind against Alabama, increased passing volume should give Taylor multiple opportunities to reach two touchdown passes.
Toney enters Week 5 with 34 receptions for 564 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 141.0 receiving yards per game. He has recorded receiving totals of 234, 96, 114, and 120 yards, clearing 100.5 in three of four games and missing in the other by only 4.5 yards. His heavy target share makes this projection particularly appealing, as Toney has established himself as the centerpiece of Miami’s passing attack. Clemson represents a stronger defensive matchup, but Miami’s passing volume and Toney’s consistent involvement give him a realistic path to another triple-digit receiving performance.

Underdog Fantasy college football pick ‘ems are pretty straightforward in terms of how they function. Players must pick two or more of the player prop selections that are available for the upcoming slate of games. These picks must span at least two unique games, as that is a part of what keeps Underdog Fantasy legal as a game of skill under the fantasy football umbrella.
Players are able to choose anywhere from two to five picks for each of their pick ‘em entries. A two-leg pick ‘em entry pays out 3x the amount wagered, while a five-leg entry pays out 20x the amount risked. Naturally, it is much more difficult to win as more legs are added to a player’s card, so players are responsible for balancing their win probability with the amount they hope to win from each entry.
Each pick that is combined into an Underdog Fantasy college football entry asks players to select whether they think a player prop will go higher or lower than the total the site has listed. For example, players can pick whether they think a running back will go over or under a rushing yardage number, or whether a quarterback will land higher or lower than the set number of passing touchdowns. In the event of a push, the number of legs in the pick ‘em entry and the subsequent payout, will decrease by one leg.
The most overlooked component of playing DFS sites like Underdog Fantasy is how to get value out of doing so. Like traditional college football betting, there is a math and probability component to playing Underdog Fantasy for college football. Below is a table containing the payout odds for traditional parlays at a sportsbook, the equivalent payout at Underdog Fantasy, and the true odds of winning each.
# of Parlay Legs at -110 | Underdog Fantasy Payout | DraftKings Sportsbook Payout | True Odds |
|---|---|---|---|
2 | +200 | +264 | +300 |
3 | +500 | +595 | +700 |
4 | +900 | +1228 | +1500 |
5 | +1900 | +2435 | +3100 |
In terms of getting fair value, the only way to get close to doing so at Underdog Fantasy is to play two-leg pick ‘ems. Any additional legs will move players further from getting the true odds on their entry, with additional legs seeing the payouts lag significantly behind what even traditional sportsbooks offer on parlays. This is a great sign to stop putting lottery ticket parlays together as well, as you can see by comparing parlay payouts to their true odds.
To win when making Underdog Fantasy college football picks, there are a few strategies that can help along the way. Below are some of the strategic elements of handicapping that our college football experts use when putting together the college football pick ‘em entries that we present to you on a weekly basis.
As we mentioned earlier, the only way to get close to fair value relative to your true odds on Underdog Fantasy is to stick to two-leg pick ‘em entries. While these do not come with the alluring 20x payouts that five-leg entries do, your chances of winning these are way better and you actually receive the type of payout that matches those chances. This is simply the right way to play on a site like this, whether you like it or not.
College football games have the potential to be so high-scoring and feature so many big plays. But there can often be value in the unders on sites like Underdog, as you are going against so many players who wish to blindly bet the over on props whenever possible. At the very least, it is smart to take a look and evaluate each total on a case-by-case basis.
Doing the research to evaluate each option in Underdog Fantasy college football contests is incredibly important. This is especially true given that there are so many more games to choose from in college football than there are in pro football. Players can really find value in the higher/lower markets at Underdog if they are simply willing to dig deep and find it in less-heralded matchups.
