This was a defensive battle, with it being 6-6 at the end of regulation, and this loss will sting for SJSU for quite some time. Nick Nash went 16/34 for 228 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception on the night. Derrick Deese Jr. hauled in six balls for 113 yards on the night. Defensively, the Spartans allowed just 240 total yards and recovered one SDSU fumble.
UNLV hosted Utah State and suffered a late 28-24 defeat. It looked like the Rebels were on their way to their first win of the season, but Utah State scored with 35 seconds remaining to take the lead and the win. Two UNLV QBs combined to go 12/24 for 11 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. Charles Williams was a beast on the ground as he totaled 221 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries. Defensively, the Rebels allowed 440 yards and forced one Utah State interception.
