A key game in the Big-12 race is set for Saturday night as the #10 Oklahoma Sooners travel to Waco to take on the undefeated, and 13th ranked, Baylor Bears. These are the top two teams in the Big 12 race and the Bears are one of the five remaining undefeated teams in the nation.
The Oklahoma Sooners enter Saturday at 8-1 overall, 5-1 in the Big 12, and currently sit in second place in the conference. A win Saturday will all but assure the Sooners of making the Big 12 championship game and will keep their College Football Playoff chances alive. Oklahoma will be bowling for the 21st straight season.
Baylor is one of the most surprising teams in the nation as the Bears enter Saturday 9-0 overall and 6-0 in Big-12 play. The Bears are atop the Big 12 and one more win would clinch a spot in the Big 12 Championship game. A win Saturday will push Baylor into legitimate playoff talk, but at the very least the Bears will be bowling for the second straight season.
Below is my pick for the #10 Oklahoma Sooners at #13 Baylor Bears. All lines are from the DraftKings Sportsbook.
#10 Oklahoma Sooners (-10) at #13 Baylor Bears: O/U 67.5 points (-110/-110)
The Oklahoma Sooners were one two point conversion away from a two game losing streak, but the defense was able to come up with the stop and put Oklahoma back to their winning ways. Oklahoma was up 42-21 going into the fourth quarter, but Iowa State scored 20 unanswered points in the final quarter to come within one point of the win. Oklahoma has played one ranked team this season and they came away with a 34-27 win over then #11 Texas. The Sooners are 4-5 against the spread and the over has hit in five of their nine games this season.
The cardiac Bears survived yet another one possession game, this time at TCU, to move to 5-0 in one possession games this season. Last week took three overtimes, but the bears were able to leave Fort Worth with a 29-23 win and a still unbeaten record. Baylor has not played a ranked team all season and have only beaten three teams who currently have a winning record. The Bears are 5-4 against the spread and the over has hit in five of their nine games this season.
Series History: Oklahoma leads the all-time series 25-3 and have won the last four meetings between the two.
CFB Prediction: It feels like Baylor only plays one possession games, so I am backing the Bears +10 Saturday night.
