College Football Picks

Week Seven of the College Football season is the best Saturday, on paper, we have had this season and the mid-afternoon games have some gems on the schedule. The big matchup is #1 Alabama traveling to College Station to take on #24 Texas A&M, but there is also Florida State at #2 Clemson, Michigan State at #8 Wisconsin and Washington State at #18 Arizona State. Also, at 4:00 pm EST, Texas Tech travels to Waco to take on the undefeated #22 Baylor Bears.

It’s going to be a great day of football and below are my picks for #1 Alabama at #24 Texas A&M and Michigan State at #8 Wisconsin. All lines are from the FanDuel Sportsbook.

#1 Alabama (-17) at #24 Texas A&M: O/U 61 points scored (-110/-110)

#1 Alabama had a bye last week, but the Crimson Tide are still unleashing their power on every opponent who comes across them in 2019. Before the bye the Crimson Tide knocked off Ole Miss 59-31 and have scored at least 42 points in each game this season. Alabama is 3rd in the nation in passing yards per game (380.6), are T-54 in rushing yards (174.0) and are 3rd in scoring (51.8). The Crimson Tide are outscoring opponents by 370 points per game in 2019.

#24 Texas A&M are also coming off a bye last week, but the week before barely survived Arkansas after coming away with a 31-27 win. A&M has already played two Top 10 teams this season and they fell at then #1 Clemson 24-10 and was beaten 28-20, at home, by then #8 Auburn. The Aggies are 25th in the nation in passing (292.8), 87th in rushing (133.4) and are 47th in scoring offense (32.8)

This season Alabama is 2-3 ATS and the over has hit in three of five games. The Aggies are 3-2 ATS and the over has hit just once in their five games.

Series History: Alabama leads the all-time series 9-2 and are currently on a six game winning streak after winning last season’s matchup 45-23.

Game Prediction: Texas A&M has not really showed up against the other two real teams they played this season and I expect that to continue on Saturday. Back the Crimson Tide at -17.

Michigan State at #8 Wisconsin (-10.5): O/U 40.5 points scored (-110/-110)

After winning two straight games to open Big Ten play Michigan State was riding some momentum as they headed into their Saturday night affair with #4 Ohio State, but the Buckeyes completely dominated the Spartans as MSU fell 34-10. Sparty’s two losses this season have come to two teams currently ranked in the top 20, so MSU will look to change their fortunes as the get ready for #8 Wisconsin. MSU is 51st in the nation in passing yards per game (260.5), 100th in rushing yards (131.7) and are averaging 27.8 points per game.

#8 Wisconsin continued their dominant start to 2019 with a 48-0 win over Kent State last week. The Badgers have now dropped 48 or more points in three of their five games and have scored at least 35 points in five of their six games. Wisconsin is 99th in the nation in passing yards per game (202.8), 10th in rushing yards (254.0) and are the 9th best scoring offense (43.4)

Wisconsin is 4-1 ATS this season and the over has hit in two of their five games. Michigan State is just 2-4 ATS in 2019 and the over has hit in three of those six games.

Series History: Michigan State leads the all-time series 30-23, but Wisconsin won the last meeting, back in 2016, 30-6

Game Prediction: This is going to be an ugly game but, while I like Wisconsin to win, the points are bit much for me, so I am backing the under 40 points in this one.

YTD College Football Results: 12-12
