Clemson at NC State Odds, ATS Pick & Prediction

The 88th edition of the Textile Bowl is set to be played Saturday night as the #5 Clemson Tigers travel to Raleigh to take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack. Clemson still has some work to do to get back into the College Football Playoff and NC State has work to do to reach a bowl this season.

Clemson is currently the first team out of the College Football Playoffs, but the four teams in front of them all still have to play each other this season, so all the Tigers need to do is keep winning to make the playoff. Clemson has a 2.5 game lead over 3-1 Wake Forest in the ACC- Atlantic division. North Carolina State needs to win two of their final four games to become bowl eligible for the sixth straight season.

Below is my pick for #5 Clemson at North Carolina State. All lines are from the FanDuel Sportsbook.

#5 Clemson Tigers (-33) at North Carolina State Wolfpack: O/U 53.5 points (-110/-110)

#5 Clemson essentially had a bye week last week as the Tigers hosted Wofford and came away with a dominant 59-14 win. Clemson is still undefeated and, besides for a one point win over North Carolina, the Tigers have been blowing everyone on their schedule out. It hasn’t been a tough schedule for Clemson as they have played just one ranked team, a 24-10 home win over then #12 Texas A&M, and the Tigers ACC schedule is really weak due to the lack of any good teams this season. This could be a potential look ahead game for Clemson as they get ready to host #19 Wake Forest next weekend. Clemson is 6-3 ATS and the under has hit in five of their eight games this season.

North Carolina State’s miserable 2019 continued last week with a 44-10 road loss to then #23 Wake Forest. The Wolfpack have now lost two games in a row by a combined 55 points and have lost three of four since starting 2019 3-1. NC State have yet to face a ranked team this season and have zero wins over a team with a winning record. The Wolfpack are 3-5 ATS and the under has hit in six of their eight games.

Series History: Clemson currently leads the all-time series 58-28-1 and has won seven straight games in this series.

Game Prediction: Clemson has work to do to make the College Football Playoff, so I expect them to stomp all over the Wolfpack. Back the Tigers -33 Saturday night.
