Three games on tap in the WNBA tonight and we’ll look at one of the last games, as the Atlanta Dream (6-9) travel to Seattle to face the Storm (12-4).
Atlanta at Seattle Betting Odds
The Storm are favored by 14.5 and the total on the dropped quite a bit, moving from 172 to 167 on news the Dream will be without leading scorer Tiffany Hayes.
Atlanta Dream
As mentioned earlier, the Dream will be without Tiffany Hayes, but did get back Chennedy Carter, who missed a few weeks with an injury and she’s capable of making up a lot of that production, as Hayes averages 17.6 points and Carter scores 16.1. Hayes is the team’s best 3-point shooter, although the Dream aren’t that good from long range, making 33.9% of the season. Carter is a little better from the field and foul line.
The Dream dropped a pair of home games to the Storm last month, losing 95-71 and 86-75 in which the Dream were a combined 7 for 44 in 3-point attempts. Hayes did lead the Dream in the blowout loss with 22 points, but scored just 11 in the 86-75 loss. Atlanta is No. 6 in offensive efficiency and No. 5 in pace, while 11th in defensive efficiency.

Seattle Storm
The Storm return home after a short trip to Las Vegas and are seeking to break a two-game losing streak. The line lets you know Seattle shouldn’t have any problems winning the game, but the spread is pretty hefty. Seattle has its ‘Big 3’ of Breanna Stewart, Jewell Loyd and Sue Bird and then a solid supporting cast of players capable of putting up some big numbers and who would get more playing time on the majority of teams in the league.
The Big 3 are the only three players averaging double digits for Seattle, but the Storm have another five players averaging 5 points or more. Seattle is No. 4 in pace, No. 2 in offensive efficiency and No. 4 in defensive efficiency.
Atlanta at Seattle Pick
Going to go against the grain in this one and take the over 167.5 at Unibet, as I have it 92-81 for Seattle, although that doesn’t account for the loss of Hayes, who is probably worth a couple of points. Think the Carter for Hayes trade-off is minimal and the Dream score more on the road, while Seattle’s defense is a little worse at home. It won’t be easy and it could come down to the subs, but think the Storm will score plenty in this one.
