Both the Washington Commanders and Houston Texans are in last place in their respective divisions heading into Week 11 of the NFL season. But when they face each other on Sunday, they will both have a huge opportunity to pick up a win because of the struggle of their opponent. In our NFL predictions for Sunday, we break down Commanders vs Texans from Houston.
Commanders vs Texans Betting Pick
This game will be played at NRG Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
Why Bet The Texans:
✅ Washington has one of the few offenses that is close to as inept as that of the Texans. Washington offers just over a point per game more than the Texans, and Washington’s offensive struggles will allow Houston to keep this game within a possession.
✅ Washington is banged up defensively, with Chase Young missing some time due to a knee injury. Young’s absence will not help Washington here, as he could have had a huge game against the lackluster Texans offense.
✅ Despite the differences in record between these teams, the Texans and Commanders have the same record against the spread. Both of these teams are 4-4-1 against the spread coming into Week 11, and the Texans will get the upper hand here.

Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders have a short week to get ready for the Houston Texans. They played on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles, and will have to go from that matchup to a contest on the road against the Texans. For the Commanders, the key to this game against the Texans is going to be whether or not they can put together enough offense to win on the road here.
Despite things getting better with Taylor Heinicke at quarterback, the Commanders have the sixth worst scoring offense in the NFL. While Houston’s defense is porous at best for the most part, the Commanders need to find a way to get things going to avoid a loss that would almost assure them a last place finish this season.
Houston Texans
Last week, the Houston Texans lost to the New York Giants on the road. They were ineffective offensively, did not do enough defensively, and gave up 152 rushing yards to Saquon Barkley in the losing effort. This week, Houston needs to do more on defense to avoid losing to a fellow last place team.
Davis Mills did throw for 319 yards last week against the Giants. But he only turned all of those yards into one touchdown pass. Mills has to be more clinical with his scoring chances for the Texans to have a chance at a second win here.
