Giants vs Panthers
Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold returns to New York, only not to play his former team. Darnold did get to play the Jets in the friendly comforts of home, but now returns to the stadium where he will have mostly bad memories. This is bad timing to add another issue to the mental makeup of Darnold, as he had issues in that department last week. It will be be quite interesting to see whether that becomes a trend or was a one off.

Why Bet The Giants
✅ The Panthers are something of a reeling team after an impressive start to the season. We know now the lack of quality from their opponents was a huge reason for the hot start. After that 3-0 start they have now lost three straight. We have seen a big fall off on both sides of the ball. On offense, the continued absence of Christian McCaffrey is quite an obvious blow. McCaffrey is truly the biggest game changing back in the league, and something is lost whenever he is not on the field. The more current and pressing concern however, is the drop off in play from Sam Darnold. He was brutally bad last week, and a big part of it was the mental aspect of the game. That area certainly cannot be helped by having to play in MetLife Stadium. He spent the early portion of his career there, and cannot have many good memories. Additionally, if targets are forced to Robby Anderson once again, it is not good for the Panthers. Anderson has played poorly and mustered 11 yards on 11 targets last week.
✅ While the offense has taken a step back for the Panthers, the defense has seen the biggest shift from the first three games to the next three. After allowing 10 points per game in those first three, they have allowed 30.3 per in the three games since. We thought they were stout up front and perhaps inconsistent on the back end, but this defense is beaten at every level. We do not yet know if Saquon Barkley will be back this week, but the early week guess is yes, and that will be bad news for this defense.

✅ I know it is unpopular to say positive things about the Giants, but I strongly do not believe the to be as bad as their 1-5 record. For starters, they are getting healthier. Daniel Jones and Sterling Shepard have returned to the lineup, and it is more probable than not they get Saquon Barkley and Darius Slayton back this week as well. It is also possible Kenny Golladay returns. The Giants had heartbreaking losses against the WFT and Falcons early in the season, and then went and got an impressive win in New Orleans. They were then crushed by injuries and the schedule, being blown out by the high end Cowboys and Rams. With the schedule softening and the offense finding some health, they are in a supreme bounce back spot at home.
