The Week 11 Sunday slate is punctuated with a SNF matchup that has the Los Angeles Chargers hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. This AFC West matchup is something of a crucial one for the Chargers if they are going to stay in the divisional race. The 5-4 Chargers trail the 7-2 Chiefs by two full games already and the Chiefs having won the first matchup. Losing another game plus tie breaker scenarios within the division would all but settle the outcome of the AFC West already. The Chargers should have no issues getting a Wild card spot in any event, but they desperately need a win on Sunday night if they are to keep the divisional race alive.
Even with the game taking place in Los Angeles, oddsmakers give the edge to the Chiefs. They are set as 5.5 point favorites on the road. The first game at Arrowhead was a three point differential, but the Chargers have issues pop up on defense since then, particularly against the run. They are going to have to fix that or get destroyed by a balanced Mahomes lead attack.
Isaih Pacheco Player Prop
We have seen the Chiefs use three backs throughout the first half of the season. All of Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Isaih Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon have had their fair share of usage. At least until last week. While McKinnon was still heavily utilized as a pass catcher, it was Pacheco that full usurped rushing duties from Edwards-Helaire. Pacheco had 16 carries last week while Edwards-Helaire got zero. Every last indication is the rookie Pacheco will own early down duties going forward.
Pacheco now sees a maddeningly soft matchup against the Chargers front. The Chargers have had huge issues stopping the run all season, and it has gotten progressively worse for them. The Chargers are third worst in the league, allowing 146.8 rushing yards per game. That figure has grown in recent weeks as they have been gashed even further on the ground. They are allowing over 190 rushing yards per game over the last three.
The Pacheco rushing prop has actually moved downward over the last half day. It has moved from 54.5 yard to 53.5 yards, and is moving in the wrong direction. No matter, we get to take advantage. Pacheco will not need volume like the 16 carries he got last week to post a solid rushing game in this exceptional matchup. Game script should matter little as well, as anywhere in double digit carries will seem him cruise over the rushing total.
