Host Adam Burke wanted to get a show out to the listeners on Monday and that’s exactly what he did with this edition of The Bettor’s Box. On today’s podcast, Adam talked about how offensive numbers started fast in the first half of May, but wound up regressing back towards what we saw in April in the second half. Adam talked about some potential reasons why and also about some other developments we saw in the second month of the season.
After talking about the best and worst offenses of the month, Adam looked at struggles with platoon advantages for left-handed batters and why that is such a contributing factor in the low offensive numbers that we have seen. A recap of line moves from the weekend led into some analysis of today’s card and a pick for Monday. Lastly, Adam previewed the week ahead with thoughts on Rays vs. Yankees, Red Sox vs. Astros, Marlins vs. Blue Jays, and Rangers vs. Rockies.
Join Adam and Brian Blessing on Tuesday for some thoughts on the NHL Playoffs, golf, and the Belmont Stakes.
