The 2020 World Series is set, and it features the two best teams from the regular season. The American League Tampa Bay Rays and the National League Los Angeles Dodgers will get the Fall Classic underway on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Los Angeles is the home team to begin, but the entire series will be played in the Arlington bubble. This game will air live on FOX at 8:09 p.m. EST.
Tampa Bay has gone 9-5 in the playoffs and have played in a do or die game. The Rays started the postseason with a two-game series sweep over the Toronto Blue Jays. Tampa Bay then jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the New York Yankees in the ALDS and ended up winning the series 3-1. The AL East champs then played the Houston Astros in the ALCS and jumped out to a 3-0 series lead. Things almost crumbled for the Rays, but they were able to finish Houston off in game seven on Sunday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have had a similar route to the World Series, but they were the ones fighting off elimination in the NLCS. Los Angeles started the playoffs with an easy two-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers, in the NLWCS, and then swept the San Diego Padres in three games to win the NLDS. The Dodgers then faced the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS and had to come back from a 3-1 series deficit, and a 2-0 game seven deficit, to win the series 4-3.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are -200 favorites to lift the 2020 World Series. Tampa Bay is +160 to lift the trophy.

Tampa Bay Rays (+145) vs Los Angeles Dodgers (-175)
Pitching Matchup (Playoffs): Tyler Glasnow (2-1, 4.66 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) vs Clayton Kershaw (2-1, 3.32 ERA, 0.95WHIP)
Tyler Glasnow gets the nod in game one of the World Series and he will look to rebound off a subpar ALCS start. Glasnow has already made four appearances in the playoffs and has alternated good and starts. The righty started game four of the ALCS and got the loss in a 4-3 Astros win. Glasnow lasted six innings, allowed eight hits, walked two batters, and allowed four earned runs. For the playoffs, Glasnow has allowed 17 hits, eight walks, and 10 earned runs in 19.1 innings pitched.
Clayton Kershaw will look to get his World Series off to a good start after two not so great starts in his last two outings. Kershaw started game four of the NLCS and took the loss in a 10-2 Atlanta Braves win. The lefty lasted just five innings, gave up seven hits, and allowed four earned runs. Kershaw has allowed 16 hits and seven earned runs in 19.0 postseason innings.
MLB Predictions: Give me Tampa Bay +145 in game one.
