San Diego Padres at Los Angeles Dodgers – 08/11/20 – MLB Odds, Preview & Prediction

A big National League West series continues Tuesday, August 11, 2020, when the San Diego Padres (10-7) visit the Los Angeles Dodgers (11-6) for game two of their four game series. Los Angeles find themselves in second place in the NL West but are just half a game behind the Colorado Rockies. San Diego are in third place and just 1.5 games back of the Rockies. This game will air live on ESPN+ at 9:40 p.m. EST.

The series got started Monday night and it was a pitching duel that ended 2-1 in favor of San Diego. Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, thanks to a Cody Bellinger RBI single, but that was all the Padres pitchers would give up on the night. Dustin May was electric for the Dodgers on the mound, but the rookie gave up an Austin Hedges solo home run in the fifth inning and an Eric Hosmer RBI single in the sixth inning to take the loss. The National League West is looking like the best division in baseball and these two teams are right there in the mix.

Below is my pick for the Major League Baseball showdown between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers. All odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook.

Game Odds: San Diego Padres (+143) at Los Angeles Dodgers (-165)

Pitching Matchup: Garrett Richards (0-1, 4.56 ERA, 16K) vs Ross Stripling (3-0, 4.00 ERA, 16K)

Garrett Richards is set to make his fourth start of 2020 and it has been all downhill since his first start of the season. Richards started 2020 with a five inning, one hit gem against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but struggled in his next two starts. The righty allowed four earned runs and eight hits against the Colorado Rockies and followed that up with a four earned run and five hit performance against these Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ross Stripling hasn’t pitched particularly well to start the season, but he will look to make it a perfect 4-0 Tuesday night. Stripling started the season off with a beautiful seven inning, four hit, one earned run performance against the San Francisco Giants, but has struggled since. The 30-year-old gave up three earned runs in just 5.1 innings of work against Arizona and four earned runs in 5.2 innings of work against San Diego.

History: The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the all-time series 479-401 after losing 2-1 Monday night.

Free MLB Picks: I like the Los Angeles Dodgers to bounce back and get the win Tuesday night.

2020 Picks Record: 22-13
