Los Angeles Dodgers at Los Angeles Angels – 08/14/20 – MLB Odds, Preview & Prediction

An interleague battle gets started in California on Friday, August 14, 2020, when the Los Angeles Dodgers (13-7) travel to Anaheim to face the Los Angeles Angels (7-12). The Dodgers currently sit tied for first place in the NL West with the Colorado Rockies and the Angels sit in fourth place in the AL West, already six games back of first place Oakland. This game will air live on FOX at 7:15 p.m. EST.

The Los Angeles Dodgers faced off against the San Diego Padres and won the last two games to earn a series split. San Diego came out of the gates firing as they won game one 2-1 and game two 6-2, but good teams react and that is what the Dodgers do. Los Angeles dominated the last two games of the series winning game three 6-0 and game 4 11-2.

The Angels rebounded from a rough stretch nicely and took two of three from the Oakland Athletics. Los Angeles won game one 10-9 and game two 6-0 but could not get the sweep as Oakland won the final game of the series 8-4.

Below is my pick for the Major League Baseball showdown between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels. All odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook.

Game Odds: Los Angeles Dodgers (-174) at Los Angeles Angels (+150)

Pitching Matchup: Clayton Kershaw (1-1, 3.60 ERA, 12K) vs Patrick Sandoval (0-1, 2.70 ERA, 8K)

Clayton Kershaw prepares for this third start of the season and will look to bounce back from his last outing. The lefty started his season brilliantly with a 5.2 inning, three hit, zero earned run outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Kershaw then faced the San Francisco Giants and struggled, giving up seven hits and hour earned runs in just 4.1 innings of work. The future hall of famer still has good stuff and can spin a gem every single start.

Patrick Sandoval is ready to make his third start of the 2020 season and will look to continue his strong showings. Sandoval debuted in 2020 with a four inning, four hit, two run (one earned) performance against the Seattle Mariners and then held the Texas Rangers to four hits and two earned runs in six innings. Sandoval is still looking for his first win of his career and he will be fighting an uphill battle Friday night.

History: The Los Angeles Angels lead the all-time series 70-54 after taking all four games in 2019.
