Los Angeles Angels at Seattle Mariners – 08/04/20 – MLB Odds, Preview & Prediction

An American League West three-game series gets underway Tuesday, August 4, 2020, when the Los Angeles Angels (3-7) visits the Seattle Mariners (4-7). These two teams have already played three games against each other season with Seattle winning two of three. This game will air live on ESPN at 10:00 p.m. EST.

The Los Angeles Angels played a three-game series against the Houston Astros over the weekend and left losing two of three. Houston won game one 9-6, but Los Angeles fought back with a 5-4 win in game two. The Astros took the series with a 6-5 extra innings win on Sunday.

Seattle hosted Oakland in a four-game series and ended up losing the final three games against the A’s. The Mariners beat Oakland 5-3 in the opening game, but Oakland bounced back with back-to-back 3-2 wins on Saturday and Sunday. Monday was ugly for Seattle as Oakland put up eight runs in the top of the fifth inning and ended up winning 11-1.

Below is my pick for the Major League Baseball showdown between the Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels. All odds are from MGM Sportsbook.

Los Angeles Angels (-196) at Seattle Mariners (+168)

Pitching Matchup: Andrew Heaney (0-0, 2.79 ERA, 12K) vs Justin Dunn (0-0, 6.00 ERA, 2K)

Andrew Heaney is set for his third start of the season, and second against Seattle, as he searches for his first win of the season. Heaney has been on a pitch count as he has only pitched 9.2 innings combined in those two starts. In those 9.2 innings, the lefty has given up seven hits, three earned runs, and has a 0.83 WHIP. The 29-year-old pitched five innings and gave up five hits, and two earned runs in his start against Settle on July 29th.

Justin Dunn is set to make his second start of the season and will look to rebound from a short season debut. Dunn lasted just three innings against the Angels as the righty struggled to find his command.  The 24-year-old allowed just one hit in those three innings, but he gave un three runs (two earned) and walked three.

History: The Los Angeles Angels leads the all-time series 365-305, but the past few years have seen these teams each other tough.

Free MLB Picks: I like the Settle Mariners to start the season off with a win.

2020 Picks Record: 16-6
