The Boston Red Sox (14-17) are finally starting to play well this season after a rough start and will be taking on the Chicago White Sox (13-15) in the first of a four-game series. David Price (1-2 3.60 ERA) takes the hill for the Red Sox and will be going up against Lucas Giolito (2-1 5.30 ERA) of the White Sox.

After two rough outings to start the season, Price is starting to get back into form, pitching 18 innings in his last three starts and only allowing four earned runs with 24 strikeouts. Through 30 innings this season Price has 37 strikeouts and holds a WHIP of 1.07.

Giolito is returning from the IL (hamstring) and making his first start since April 17. Before being removed in his last start, Giolito struck out five and gave up zero hits in 2 ⅔ innings against the Kansas City Royals. Prior to that start, Giolito has given up 11 earned runs and nine walks in 16 innings.

A first start off of the IL is tricky for any pitcher. Giolito was having his best start of the season in the short time against Kansas City before being pulled, but other than that he has struggled this season. With the Red Sox on the rise and Giolito making his first start in two weeks should spell trouble for the White Sox. An extended period between starts seems to always throw pitchers off of their routine and causes problems come game time. Price is on the rise as well and I think he continues that trend today and pitches another good game to get the win. The White Sox have won four of their last five but against the Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers. The Red Sox should take this one and jump on Giolito early before piling runs on against the White Sox bullpen late.
