Braves vs Mets Betting Pick
This game will be played at Citi Field at 7:10 PM ET on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
Why Bet The Mets:
✅ Since the All-Star break, the Mets were hitting a terrific .295/.356/.506 with 18 home runs and 32 extra-base hits across 421 at-bats. Pete Alonso is 17-for-44 with five homers and 13 RBIs over his previous 12 appearances, while Francisco Lindor has 16 hits, four doubles, three dingers, and eight RBIs across his last 44 at-bats.
✅ Jake Odorizzi (4-3; 3.75 ERA; 1.15 WHIP) will make his Braves debut, and the 32-year-old righty has been inconsistent through his 12 starts (60 innings pitched) with the Houston Astros in 2022. Odorizzi has tossed seven scoreless frames twice in July and still finished the month 1-1 with an underwhelming 4.45 ERA. Jake ranks in the 43rd percentile in expected batting average and the 13th percentile in whiff percentage.

✅ David Peterson is projected to get the ball for the Mets. The 26-year-old lefty hasn’t pitched since July 27 when he blew a save in the Mets’ narrow 3-2 win over the Yankees. Still, Peterson is 5-2 with a 3.54 ERA and 86/35 K/BB ratio in 73.2 innings of work (13 starts and four relief appearances) this season. He’s registered a strong 2.78 ERA and 3.49 FIP over his previous six starts (32.1 innings pitched) and ranks in the 71st percentile in expected batting average.
Atlanta Braves
The 63-43 Braves fell four and a half games behind the NL East-leading Mets following Thursday’s loss at Citi Field. The reigning champions were still holding the top wild card in the National League. It was their second defeat in a row, as the Braves stopped their four-game winning streak with a 3-1 home loss to the Phillies this past Wednesday. Atlanta’s bullpen has struggled a bit in the last ten days, posting a 4.05 ERA and 4.31 FIP across 20 innings of work, while the Braves’ lineup has accounted for a decent .251/.313/.413 slash line through its previous 395 at-bats.
New York Mets
The Mets improved their record to 67-38 for the season following that 6-4 win against the Braves. It was New York’s ninth victory in ten outings. The Mets have been outstanding of late, though their bullpen has a 4.70 ERA in the last 23 frames of work. Edwin Diaz is still untouchable, throwing 16.1 scoreless innings in a row.
