Miami vs Texas A&M Betting Preview
A non-conference blockbuster is set for Saturday night when the Miami Hurricanes (2-0) visit the Texas A&M Aggies (1-1). Miami has blown out their first two opponents and look prime for the road upset. Texas A&M had a tough trap game in week two and were upset at home. This game will air live on ESPN.
Through two games, Miami is scoring 50.0 points per game and are gaining 519.0 yards per game, 279.5 through the air and 239.5 on the ground. Defensively, the Hurricanes are averaging just 10.0 points against, and 291.0 yards allowed, 228.0 passing and 63.0 rushing.
After two games, Texas A&M is scoring 22.5 points per game and are gaining 341.5 yards per game, 242.0 through the air and 99.5 on the ground. Defensively, the Aggies are averaging just 8.5 points against, and 256.5 yards allowed, 112.5 passing and 144.0 rushing.
Miami vs Texas A&M Prediction
Last time out, Miami hosted Southern Mississippi and won 30-7. Southern Miss was leading late in the second quarter, but Miami scored the final 27 points of the game to get the win. The Hurricanes scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and added two field goals in the fourth quarter. Tyler Van Dyke went 21/30 for 263 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on the day. Miami ran the ball 49 times for 174 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Defensively, the Hurricanes allowed 240 total yards and forced three Golden Eagles turnovers, one interception and two recovered fumbles.
Texas A&M hosted Appalachian State and suffered a shocking 17-14 loss. The was a fantastic, defensive, battle that saw the Mountaineers look like the better team all game. Both teams scored seven points in the second quarter and seven points in the third quarter to set up a fourth quarter showdown. The Aggies offense couldn’t get anything going and App State hit a game-winning 29-yard field goal with eight minutes on the clock. Haynes King went just 13/20 for 97 yards and added 23 yards on the ground. Devon Achane ran the ball 10 times for 66 yards and one touchdown and added a 95-yard kickoff return touchdown as well. Defensively, A&M allowed 315 total yards and did not force any App State turnovers.
Series History: Miami has won two straight meetings, with the most recent meeting being in 2008, and the Hurricanes lead the all-time series 2-1.
Pick: I think last week’s loss against App State was a look ahead loss and I expect the Aggies to wake up and win by 7-10.
