Texas vs Oklahoma Prediction
Last time out, Texas hosted West Virginia and easily won 38-20. Texas scored the first 28 points of the game and led 28-7 at the half. The Mountaineers won the second half 13-10, but it was not enough to challenge Texas in this one. Hudson Card went 21/27 for 303 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Xavier Worthy had a day as he hauled in seven passes for 119 yards, a 17.0 average, and two touchdowns, and threw a 33-yard touchdown pass. Defensively, the Longhorns allowed 314 total yards and did not force any WVU turnovers.
Oklahoma visited the TCU Horned Frogs and left with a 55-24 defeat. This was a crazy first quarter that saw TCU take a 27-10 advantage into the second quarter. The Horned Frogs did not take the foot off the gas as they led 41-17 at the half and 55-17 after three quarters. An absolute beatdown by the Horned Frogs. Two Oklahoma QBs combined to go 14/32 for 176 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Oklahoma ran the ball 49 times for 179 yards, a 3.7 average, and three touchdowns in the loss. Defensively, the Sooners allowed 668 total yards and did not force any TCU turnovers.
Series History: Oklahoma has won four consecutive meetings, but Texas still leads this rivalry 62-50-5.
Pick: Without Dillon Gabriel, and maybe even with, I don’t see Oklahoma keeping this game close. Give me Texas to cover the spread.
